After the flood, the whole earth had one language. On the plain of Shinar, the people resolved to build a city and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and to make a name for themselves. This film follows the account in Genesis 11:1-9: the building, the confusion of their language, and the scattering of the nations - and Genesis 10's record that the beginning of Nimrod's kingdom was Babel.
The scenes are artistic imaginings, not verified likenesses or a record of how the scene looked. The tower's appearance and height are artistic choices; Scripture does not describe them. The direct quotation is word for word from the World English Bible, British Edition (public domain), Genesis 11:6-7. All other narration is an original retelling of the Scripture account.
