The world had grown corrupt and was filled with violence, but Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord. This film follows the account in Genesis chapters 6 to 9: the building of the great ship, the animals coming in, the forty days of rain, the ship resting on Ararat's mountains, the dove with the olive leaf - and God's covenant sign, the rainbow in the cloud.
The scenes are artistic imaginings, not verified likenesses or a record of how the scene looked. The ship's appearance is an artistic choice; Scripture gives its size, not its look. The direct quotations are word for word from the World English Bible, British Edition (public domain), Genesis 8:1 and Genesis 9:13. All other narration is an original retelling of the Scripture account.
